During October, two months into GamerGate, an idea was formed. It was ambitious in nature—create a dossier looking into instances of corruption in video game journalism. Despite the workload, a group of dedicated supporters came together to slave away day and night for weeks in order to share what they found with the rest of the world.
We hope you will read through the report when it is completed. We have no intentions of converting readers to the side of GamerGate - we only wish to address the issues of ethics in video game journalism and educate people about what goes on in the industry.
One thing we really want to emphasise in our stance on GamerGate is that we do not condone threats, harassment or bullying upon any person or group. There is never any excuse for such behaviour and it should always be condemned. We do not wish for the contents of this report to be used in any way to attack people, as this is not the intention of it. The report is simply to inform people and help them understand the concerns of many people in regards to video game journalism and the gaming industry.
If you see any trolls, using the GamerGate name or not, we ask that you report them as soon as possible. By doing this, we hope that we can have an open dialogue with the community without fear of harassment.
